Looking for the best OBGYN in Hong Kong? Hong Kong has around 475 practising specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology, according to the Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and nearly two-thirds of them work in private practice. Many have decades of experience. Some have extra training in areas such as fertility and IVF, high-risk pregnancy (maternal-fetal medicine), gynaecological cancer or pelvic floor health.
This guide covers 10 of the best private OBGYN and women’s health clinics in Hong Kong, from fertility centres to midwife-led care. For each one, we list its doctors and what they specialise in.
Are you planning a family, or hoping to support your fertility with diet and lifestyle changes? Maybe you’re looking for an obstetrician to see you through pregnancy and birth, or support after your baby arrives. You’ll find a clinic for every stage here. All of these clinics offer general women’s health check-ups. For anything more specific, read our summaries and check each clinic’s website to make sure it offers the service you need.
What’s the difference between a gynaecologist and an OBGYN in Hong Kong?
Obstetrics covers maternity care before, during and after pregnancy. Gynaecology focuses on female reproductive health, including periods, infections and hormone issues. Most specialists in Hong Kong are trained in both. The city has close to 500 registered OBGYNs. See the full list in the Little Steps gynaecologists and OBGYN guide.
How do I choose an OBGYN for pregnancy in Hong Kong?
Look for clinics with strong delivery records and low complication rates. Central Health has delivered more than 12,000 babies over 30 years with low rates of Caesarean sections and episiotomies. The Women’s Clinic, Dr Alice Fung Clinic and OT&P Annerley also support pregnancy and postnatal care. Ask about ultrasound options, delivery hospital preferences and whether midwives are part of the team.
Where can I get fertility support or egg freezing in Hong Kong?
Hong Kong Centre for Reproductive Medicine is a one-stop assisted reproduction centre offering IVF, artificial insemination and egg freezing. The Women’s Clinic provides fertility consultations plus an in-house dietician. Prophecy Maternal Fetal Clinic offers pre-pregnancy counselling and genetic testing. Book a specialist early if you are planning to conceive or freeze eggs.
Do I need a referral to see a private gynaecologist?
No. Private clinics such as Central Health, Premier Clinic, Prestige Medical Center and OT&P Annerley accept direct bookings. Public maternity care through Maternal and Child Health Centres is free for eligible residents but involves longer waits and shared care with hospital obstetric teams.
How much does a private OBGYN consultation cost in Hong Kong?
A first private consultation typically ranges from about HK$1,000 to HK$2,500, with follow-ups often similar. Ultrasounds, blood tests and packages add extra. Full antenatal packages can run higher. Always ask for a written quote and check whether your insurance needs a GP referral for reimbursement.
The Women's Clinic was founded by the doctor who delivered Hong Kong's first IVF baby in 1986. It has obstetricians, gynaecologists and fertility specialists in one place. Fertility options include natural cycle monitoring, ovulation induction, IUI, IVF and IVM, plus storage of eggs, sperm and embryos, donor eggs and sperm, and surgical sperm extraction. For pregnancy, there are early scans, 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasounds, antenatal blood tests and Down's syndrome screening. The clinic also offers well-woman, premarital and menopause screening, keyhole procedures such as hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, and an in-house dietitian who helps with healthy eating and weight management. If you're thinking about IVF, you can book a free counselling appointment. All doctors come highly recommended, but Dr Alice Wong really stands out, for her care, knowledge and dedication.

HKRMC focuses only on fertility. Couples have tests together, and a doctor then explains which treatments could work for them. Testing includes AMH (a hormone test of egg supply), semen analysis, sperm DNA testing, a fallopian tube check and endometrial receptivity testing. Treatment can be as simple as timed intercourse, or it can be IUI, IVF or ICSI. Advanced lab options include PGT (genetic testing of embryos), blastocyst culture, embryo glue and assisted hatching. The centre also offers a lower-dose "mild stimulation" IVF that needs only three injections. Egg, sperm and embryo freezing, donor programmes and reproductive immunology are also available. The website has a free quiz that estimates your chance of getting pregnant within a year, plus many articles on the causes of infertility.
