A day at the farm is something we all love to do. Good news city slickers! Jakarta offers an abundance of great farms that the kids and family can visit together. Here are some of our favorite farms and petting zoos in and around Jakarta. Go on now – try one this weekend.
This is one of the best farms in Jakarta and is only 45 minutes from central Jakarta. Once you get there, you’ll get your very own hat to keep the sun off your face. Animals here are kept in excellent condition and your kids will learn how to feed and interact with them. Aside from farm animals, they also have horse riding options and plants. Your little ones will have fun petting rabbits and feeding the ducks as well!

Being one of our favorite places to go on the weekend, Scientia Square Park has lots of activities to offer. They recently opened a new Teepee Barn area where you can meet and greet Alpacas, Donkeys, Mini Horses, and more! Moreover, you can meet Malo the deer, the latest addition to the Teepee Barn. In other areas, you can pet some bunnies, see Rocky the tortoise, ride horses, and also see a buffalo. Feel free to bring the whole family, including your furry ones, as they are pet-friendly!

On your day off, head over to Istana Nelayan in Tangerang, just a little bit outside of Jakarta. Even though it is mainly a restaurant, Istana Nelayan has a recreational area that includes a playground and a mini farm. Walk around between the greeneries and the kids can meet and greet the animal farms there. They have goats, horses, geese, turkeys, and more! While you're there, stop by the Balinese-style Pendopo Cafe and get their signature Vanilla Choco Chip drink or go to their boat-shaped restaurant and enjoy a meal.

You can head over to the Panda Pavilion and meet the giant pandas, feed the red pandas, and also see other animals from China. Then, you can check out the baby zoo and meet the kangaroos, primates, and large felines including the white tiger. Trekking and Outbound Safari are also available.

Still within Jakarta, Faunaland is a great place to visit with the whole family. Even though it's compact in size, the venue has loads of activities. Catch the interactive bird show, hop on a boat tour, or walk around and see the many exotic animals. Toddlers under 2 years old can enter for free. Even though they do not have any cafes or restaurants inside, visitors are allowed to bring their own food and beverages for personal consumption. Don't feed the animals with your food, though!
