How time flies! The Back to School preparations are still fresh in mind, yet somehow it’s already time to start planning activities for the first of the half-term breaks in Hong Kong! Hong Kong is full of new ideas, people, and experiences this October. So we’ve rounded up some cool camps, workshops, and activities to keep those little minds expanding. More fun October half-term inspiration for things to do in Hong Kong?
Minisport are running exciting daily drop-in half-term camps for active young kids this October, giving parents maximum flexibility and kids maximum fun! With 5 locations to choose from, Minisport is offering multi-sport camps for kids aged 1.5 to 8 years. These run from their renowned playgroup programme (guardian-assisted) for kids as young as 1.5 to 2.5 years right through to Mini-Tots (2.5 to 3.5 years), Level 1 (3.5 to 5 years) and Level 2 (6 to 8 years). Groups are kept small for safety and you can enrol for the full week or on a day-to-day basis. This half-term, their Repulse Bay camp will be transformed into one big pirate party!
Camps are held at Victoria Park (Causeway Bay), Nam Cheong Park (Sham Shui Po), Velodrome Park (Tseung Kwan O), Repulse Bay Beach (NEW pirate themed beach camp) and West Island School (Pok Fu Lam). Camps are priced at HK$250/day for playgroup and HK$375 a day for mini-tots, L1 and L2.

Ready for some STEM this October? Qurio’s Autumn Camp offers two sessions: STEM in Mandarin, and Robotics & Coding. The former has been designed to develop children's creativity and logical thinking. Students are encouraged to ask questions, develop a growth mindset, explain their reasoning, create models, and practice hands-on activities. Robotics and Coding session sees students carrying out investigations, building and programming and constructing block models.

This October holiday, ask your child to picture themselves on a week’s vacation away from home. Where are they? In a tropical paradise or snorkeling a coral reef or even traveling to outer space? They can join a Colour My World workshop for an imaginative getaway through Drama and Visual Arts. Holy moly - there are loads of camps here! Whether your little one is passionate about drama, cooking, drawing, or science, you'll find something at YWCA International Kids Club! This October they have some extraordinary camps, like the Gymnastics by Smarteam (walking-age 12), Les Malines French Playgroup (1-5yrs), Oxford Reading Tree (ages 3-9), Maths Masters (ages 2-3), and more. Join Babel Film's Horror Week workshop for some heart-pounding fun this October! In two fun camps for 8-15-year-olds, students will learn filmmaking techniques used in scary Hollywood movies. Younger kids will create their own videos using spooky lighting skills, and pair them with iconic Halloween sound effects in their Spooky Lighting & Sound Effects camp. Older kids will recreate the sound effects of a horror film from scratch and learn how sound design makes a movie scary. The workshop costs HK$2,600.
