Macau families, rejoice! Zone 1 of the second phase of the South Shore Waterfront Green Promenade officially opened to the public on November 17, 2025 offering a fresh, free outdoor space designed with families in mind. Spanning about 8,900 square meters near Ponte Governador Nobre de Carvalho, this vibrant seaside spot blends sports, leisure, and scenic waterfront views into one easy-to-reach destination.
What Is The South Shore Green Promenade? The promenade features a free sports ground with a football pitch, basketball court, basketball practice area, and warm-up zone — ideal for active kids and weekend family games. Stroll along the waterfront wooden boardwalk, enjoy sea breezes while relaxing on benches, or simply take in the views. Ancillary facilities include public toilets, lockers, and vending machines, making it practical for outings with little ones.
This new zone forms part of a larger ~60,000 sqm project (Zones 2 and 3 are progressing), emphasizing parent-child play, recreation, and waterfront scenery. It’s a welcome addition for Macau parents seeking affordable, open-air fun without the crowds of indoor attractions.
Families with toddlers to tweens who love outdoor play, kicking a ball, or enjoying scenic walks. Great for weekend mornings or after-school wind-downs.
The full South Shore project runs from Ponte Governador Nobre de Carvalho to Portas do Entendimento, promising even more family-friendly expansions ahead.
