HK Disneyland Rolls Out New Summer Measures To Beat the Heat

This summer, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) is introducing a range of new contingency measures to ensure guests and cast members stay cool and comfortable despite unpredictable weather. From extreme heat and high humidity to sudden showers and thunderstorms, HKDL is stepping up to make the summer experience magical for all.

Staying Cool and Shaded

To help guests beat the summer heat, HKDL has enhanced its facilities with shaded rest areas, cooling fans, misting systems, and portable air conditioners across the park. Over 860 fans are now deployed, with additional cooling units placed in high-traffic areas. Free water dispensers, many upgraded to dispense water 50% faster, ensure guests can stay hydrated throughout their visit.

For indoor relief, HKDL offers a variety of attractions, dining spots, and entertainment, allowing guests to enjoy their day even during peak heat hours. The new “Summer Chill” 4PM Ticket (available for purchase at the park), exclusively for Hong Kong residents, allows visitors to enter the park from 4:00 PM onwards for just HK$480, skipping the hottest part of the day.

Weather-Conscious Design

HKDL has also integrated weather-smart designs to keep visitors comfortable year-round. Adventureland’s Wayfinders’ Table blends thoughtful airflow planning with hard roof materials for ventilation and shade. Outdoor shows like Moana: A Homecoming Celebration feature canopies, trees, and fans to keep the audience cool.

Supporting Cast Members

The resort prioritizes cast member safety with breathable, moisture-wicking uniforms and additional rest breaks during extreme heat. Cooling facilities, hydration stations, and electrolyte drinks are provided, while outdoor work schedules are adjusted according to heat warnings.

Fun at “Pixar Summer Fest”

This summer, HKDL combines fun and refreshment with the new Pixar Summer Fest. The Pixar Water Play Street Party! features a lively water parade with fan-favorite Pixar characters, perfect for cooling off in the festive atmosphere.

Guests can also indulge in playful Pixar-inspired treats like the Lime Dole Whip with Pineapple Slush Float, Mike Wazowski Ice Cream Bar, and other refreshing summer-themed snacks.
