  • Handmade Hong Kong Discovery Bay Market

    September 12 & 13, 2026
    • What: Head over to Lantau this weekend for one of Hong Kong's most charming artisanal markets. Handmade Hong Kong takes over DB Plaza for two full days, with around 80 local makers and small businesses setting up shop: think handmade ceramics, leather goods and jewellery, original art and prints, cashmere and vintage clothing, henna, natural skincare, plus plenty to eat and drink, from XO sauce and chilli oil to kombucha, wines and homemade treats (there's even premium dried dog food for the family pup). Kids are well looked after with face painting, press-on nails, doodle art and a second-hand book stall from Rolling Books, while grown-ups can browse at a leisurely pace. Make a proper day of it: the ferry ride over from Central is half the fun, and the market sits a short stroll from DB's waterfront promenade and beach, so you can easily pair shopping with a picnic, an ice cream and a run-around by the sea.
    • When: Saturday 12 September, 11:00am – Sunday 13 September, 6:00pm (11:00am–6:00pm both days)
    • Where: DB Plaza, Discovery Bay Plaza, Discovery Bay Road, Discovery Bay, Hong Kong, https://www.handmadehongkong.com/event/discovery-bay-weekend-market-september-2026/

  • The Gruffalo Hong Kong

The Gruffalo Live In Hong Kong

    September 11-13, 2026
    • What: Last chance to tiptoe into the deep dark wood! Everyone's favourite monster with terrible tusks and terrible claws is roaring his final performances in Hong Kong this weekend, so if you haven't booked yet, now's the moment. The much-loved musical retelling of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's picture-book classic follows one very quick-witted Mouse as he outfoxes a hungry fox, owl and snake — only to come face to face with The Gruffalo himself. Expect catchy tunes and plenty of silliness, all wrapped up in a snappy 60 minutes with no interval, which is about perfect for wriggly attention spans. Best for ages 3 and up, though grown-ups tend to enjoy it just as much. Remaining tickets are going fast, so grab a morning slot if you can and pair it with lunch and a run-around in Wan Chai afterwards. Little ones will be singing the songs all the way home.
    • When: September 11-13, 2026
    • Where: Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts
    • Tickets: HK$275 | HK$375 | HK$425 | HK$475. Enjoy 15% off weekday shows with code KNOBBLYKNEES or 10% off weekend shows with code PURPLEPRICKLES.

  • CAVALLUNA: Europe’s Spectacular Equestrian Show Comes To Hong Kong

    Cavalluna

    September 10-13, 2026
    • What: Europe's most spectacular equestrian show is galloping into Hong Kong for its very first Asian outing — and this weekend is your last chance to catch it. Staged at the brand-new Kai Tak Arena in Kai Tak Sports Park and presented by The Hong Kong Jockey Club as part of its Year of the Horse campaign, CAVALLUNA – Gate to the Otherworld blends 54 magnificent horses, an international dance ensemble, daring stunt riding and full theatrical storytelling into one sweeping fantasy adventure. Expect elegant European breeds such as Lusitanos and Friesians, jaw-dropping liberty routines performed without saddle or bridle, and dazzling lighting, costumes and set design that have already enchanted millions of audiences across Europe. It's genuinely all-ages entertainment — spellbinding enough for horse-mad kids, polished enough for the grown-ups — and a spectacular way to round off the weekend.
    • When: September 8, 10-13, 2026
    • Where: Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong, https://hkt.hkticketing.com/
  • CATS — Final Weekend!

    Until September 13, 2026
    • What: Last chance: Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical CATS closes its Hong Kong run this Sunday, so this is your final opportunity to catch it. Presented by Season Entertainment, GWB Entertainment and SMG Live at the Grand Theatre, Xiqu Centre in West Kowloon, this world-class production brings one of the most beloved musicals of all time roaring back to the stage — think show-stopping choreography, a spectacular set, and of course the goosebump-inducing "Memory". With Jellicle cats, dazzling costumes and songs the whole family will recognise, it's a magical night out for children and grown-ups alike. Tickets for the closing performances are going fast, so book now before the curtain comes down for good.
    • When: August 6 - September 13, 2026
    • Where: Grand Theatre, Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon, Hong Kong, https://cultural.cityline.com/
  • Dance Above Vol. 3: The Flower Power Edition

    September 12, 2026
    • What: Black Sheep Restaurants and Dreams & Dreams are throwing a one-night-only party perched high above Hong Kong at The Peak, and it's strictly for the adults. DJs Rork and Hugo Belloy take the decks with a set that rolls through soul, funk, disco and house — starting out all sun-drenched flower-child warmth before tipping into full hands-in-the-air, late-night abandon. Fuelling the dance floor is an all-night feast: steak frites from La Vache!, bite-sized desserts by Butter and a Messina gelato medley, with dinner, savoury bites, dessert and free-flow drinks all rolled into the ticket. The dress code is Flower Power, so dig out the florals, the fringing and the tinted shades. Turn up hungry, dress as loudly as you dare, and dance above it all.
    • When: Saturday 12 September, 2026 — first seating 6:00pm, second seating 8:30pm
    • Where: La Vache!, The Peak, Hong Kong, https://www.danceabove.com.hk/
    • Tickets: HK$788 per guest plus 10 per cent. Flower Petal Table and Flower Petal Bar packages available.
