The Pizza Bar By Daniele Cason Opens 2 November At Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong

Award-Winning Pizza Omakase From Tokyo, Now In Central!

Updated: October 28, 2026

award winning pizza omakase experience from mandarin oriental tokyo now in hong kong

Until now, eating Daniele Cason’s pizza meant a trip to Tokyo. From 2 November, you can get it in Central. The Pizza Bar on 38th at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, which was ranked No. 2 in the world by 50 Top Pizza in 2025, is opening its second permanent home at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.

Book a Table at The Pizza Bar here

Chef Cason grew up in Rome, and he runs his kitchen as a pizza omakase. Guests sit at a small counter and watch every pizza get stretched, topped and slid into the oven a few feet away. The base is his 72-hour aged dough, and the toppings use produce from both Italy and Japan.

It’s a sit-down, chef-led meal, so think of it as a place for birthdays, anniversaries or a big lunch when the grandparents are in town, not a quick weeknight dinner.

Little Steps Insider Tip

The counter is for adults and kids aged 12 and over. If your children are younger, book the private dining room instead. It seats up to 10, and it’s much more relaxed for little ones who can’t sit still. Teens and older kids will probably want the counter seats, because watching the chef work is half the fun. The menu goes well beyond pizza too, with cured meats, cheeses, seafood, salads and desserts, so fussy eaters should find something they like.

What’s on the Menu

  • Pizza alla pala made with the 72-hour aged dough, cooked at the counter
  • Seasonal toppings that pair Italian technique with Japanese ingredients
  • Cured meats, cheeses, seafood, fresh salads and Italian desserts as part of the tasting menu
  • Italian cocktails reworked with Japanese ingredients, plus non-alcoholic options for kids and drivers
  • A private dining room for up to 10 guests

Good to Know Before You Go

  • Opens: November 2, 2026, closed Mondays

Why Little Steps Loves It:

It brings one of Asia’s most celebrated pizza experiences to Central with real theatre - the dough, the oven, the seasonal toppings. For families celebrating a special occasion or treating older kids to something beyond everyday pizza, the private dining room makes the award-winning omakase feel special and manageable.

Who It's Perfect For:

Families with older children and teens who appreciate quality food and a chef’s-counter experience, parents looking for a memorable special-occasion meal in Central, and pizza lovers who want the real Daniele Cason experience without flying to Tokyo. Less ideal for toddlers or very young children unless using the private room.
