Singapore families, get ready for a futuristic family outing! From Tuesday, April 1, 2026, the public can hop on board autonomous shuttles in Punggol for free (for a limited time). These driverless vehicles, operated by Grab on Routes 1 and 3, offer a fun, hands-free way to explore the neighbourhood while cutting travel time by up to 15 minutes compared to regular public transport.

  • Little Steps Insider Tip: Bring your own booster seat or baby capsule for little ones — the shuttles are safe and spacious, but child restraints aren’t provided. A safety officer stays on board at all times, ready to take control if needed, so parents can relax and enjoy the ride.

Where Are The Autonomous Shuttles In Singapore?

  • The shuttles connect key spots across Punggol West, North, and East, making it easier to visit parks, malls, schools, and MRT stations without the hassle of transfers.
    • Route 1 takes about 40 minutes
    • Route 3 around 50 minutes, and there’s even a handy Route 3 Mini (starting from Punggol Coast Mall) that’s just 20 minutes — perfect for a quick family loop.
    • Little Steps Insider Tip: These rides are ideal for weekend explorations or after-school adventures. The smooth, quiet ride often feels like a mini attraction for curious kids who love watching the steering wheel move on its own!

How To Register For The Automomous Shuttles In Singapore?

  • Registration for free rides on Routes 1 and 3 opens on March 25, 2026 via the online portal.
  • How much does it cost?  It’s free now.  A flat fare of SG$4 per passenger will apply from mid-2026 when revenue service begins. Route 2 (by ComfortDelGro) is still in familiarisation and will share more info soon.
