Victoria Park Mid-Autumn Festival And Lantern Display 2024

As the autumn moon shines brightly, Victoria Park transforms into a mesmerizing wonderland filled with vibrant colors, intricate lantern displays, and joyous festivities. This annual event brings together families and friends to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Hong Kong. From traditional lanterns depicting mythical creatures to modern artistic creations, the park becomes a breathtaking showcase of creativity and tradition. Visitors can revel in the joyous atmosphere and experience a dazzling Mid-Autumn Festival filled with Cantonese opera, fire dragon dances, a festive market, delicate handicrafts, and lantern riddles.

The theme this year is “Charm in the Air: Chinese Style, Hong Kong Flair” which showcases a blend of traditional and contemporary lantern designs across the facets of “clothing,” “food,” “accommodation,” and “transport” and can reach up to 12 meters high! Highlights include a large display of traditional Chinese Tang suits and Qipaos, and a 7.5-meter tall “The Tree of Budding Creativity” lantern installation by students. The event also features a Huafu Show, a Mascots Catwalk, a Mid-Autumn Market, Yingge dance performances, folk songs and dances, a fire dragon dance parade, traditional handicraft demonstrations, interactive lantern riddles, and more.

Prepare to be “wowed” and prepare for crowds. It’s free!
