Dairy Queen’s Hong Kong arrival now has a date! The iconic American chain is opening its first flagship in November 2026, with four stores in total landing before the year is out — spread across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and the outlying islands.
Leading the charge is the flagship at One Causeway Bay on Gloucester Road — fittingly, the same district where Dairy Queen first appeared in Hong Kong back in 1979 under a Chinese name. Nearly fifty years on, it’s coming full circle. Next up is The ANGLE, the new Kwun Tong mall that’s been steadily filling up with eateries and shops since May; that site is already under hoarding. The final two addresses haven’t been revealed yet, so keep an eye out.
The Blizzard lands, upside down. The signature treat’s flex is structural: thick soft-serve built on Dairy Queen’s exclusive full-fat dairy mix, with air overrun held to around 40%. Dense enough to stay put when the cup is flipped over — which is exactly how staff hand it to you.
And plenty more beyond it. The store concept is built specifically for Hong Kong rather than lifted from the US template, with five product lines rolling out over time: cones, milkshakes, parfaits and uniquely designed ice cream cakes, plus a long list of mix-ins to customise your own.
A long-term commitment, not a one-off. Dairy Queen started in Illinois in 1940 and now runs over 7,700 outlets globally. Its franchise partner intends to grow to 60 stores in Hong Kong by 2034, alongside 12 in Macau under Shanghai Dairy Queen Limited — part of a bigger push to launch 187 restaurants across Asia and the Middle East.
