The SG Youth Plan is Singapore’s fresh five-year roadmap designed with youths and for youths. Launched on July 25, 2026, it helps young people aged 15 to 35 connect with others, discover their passion and lay the foundation for a successful career. Built from over 60,000 youth voices and more than 415,000 responses, the plan delivers practical support for career exploration, friendships, life skills, and giving back. From up to 10,000 job tasters to SG$500 Curiosity Credits to discover new hobbies, this plan equips youths to find their place and purpose within the community.

Details On The SG Youth Plan

  • Who: Young Singaporeans aged 15–35, with targeted support for teens (including 13–17-year-olds via SG$500 Curiosity Credits).
  • When: Five-year plan launched July 25, 2026. Key rollouts begin immediately (job tasters and Discover portal available now) and will scale through 2030.
  • Where: Nationwide, with new third spaces island-wide by end-2026 and the Somerset Belt redeveloped as a dedicated youth precinct by 2028. Access everything online via the Discover portal.
  • How to Join: Visit the Discover platform to browse job tasters, mentors, interest-based activities, and more. Sign up for volunteering, grants, or programs through NYC channels. Partners and individuals can also reach out to shape opportunities.

The Scoop: What To Expect From The SG Youth Plan 2026

  • Try short job tasters (half-day to a few weeks) with over 10,000 available in 2026. Opportunities are expected to grow to 30,000 a year by 2030, so teens and young adults can test real workplaces before choosing a career path.
  • Access up to 20,000 mentoring opportunities and a growing pool of mentors to get honest advice on education, careers, and life decisions.
  • Join Adulting 101 sessions covering practical topics like money management, housing, relationships, and career transitions — helpful for both youths and their parents.
  • Eligible 13- to 17-year-olds supported by self-help groups can use SG$500 Curiosity Credits to explore arts, sports, tech, cooking, or other hobbies beyond school and make new friends.
  • Enjoy more overseas exposure (up to 20,000 places per year) with a focus on ASEAN, China, and India ,for broader perspectives.
  • Apply for a share of SG$20 million in funding to support up to 3,000 youth-led projects that make a positive community impact.
  • Hang out in 12 new free community spaces (also known as ‘third spaces’) across Singapore (by end-2026) and a revitalized Somerset Belt youth precinct (by 2028) designed for natural connections and shared interests.
  • Take part in expanded volunteering (aiming for 16,000 opportunities yearly) focused on areas like aging, mental well-being, and sustainability.
