Get ready for a one-of-a-kind cultural and charitable event as the “Doulos Hope,” a floating book fair ship operated by the non-profit organization GBA Ships based in Germany, makes its inaugural visit to Hong Kong. From May 4th to 26th, 2024, the Doulos Hope will be docked at Ocean Terminal, Harbour City, inviting everyone to explore a vast collection of over 2,000 book titles and unique souvenirs, all offered at remarkably affordable prices.
The Doulos Hope isn’t just any book fair; it’s a floating library inside a ship, bringing a novel twist to your literary adventures. This event is more than just a chance to buy books—it’s an opportunity to support charitable efforts as the crew, comprised of about 100 volunteers from over 25 countries, dedicates their time to spreading knowledge, help, and hope worldwide.
Whether you’re a fan of science fiction, interested in arts, or looking for cookbooks, the Floating Book Fair aboard Doulos Hope has something for every age and interest. The selection includes children’s books, academic texts, and even rare finds in multiple languages, all priced lower than what you’d find in regular bookstores, as well as souvenirs. One of the highlights of visiting Doulos Hope is the chance to meet and converse with the international crew members.
Enhance your visit by enjoying cultural performances presented by the crew, showcasing their traditions and talents. Don’t forget to stop by the Hope Café on board to relax with a snack or a drink, providing another chance to interact with the crew.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to support a great cause, enrich your family’s library, and experience the novelty of a book fair on a ship.
