Take your wild ones on a wetland adventure!  Located in Tin Shui Wai in the New Territories, the 61-hectare Hong Kong Wetland Park is an entertaining and educational outing for the whole family.  The park not only demonstrates the diversity of Hong Kong’s wetland ecosystem but also highlights the need to conserve it.  It’s interactive and fun edutainment!

The highlights:

  • Watch entertaining and educational shows in the movie theater. Shows approximately every 30 minutes.
  • Kids’ activities, games and regular programs at the Wetland Discovery Centre. You will also find family-friendly workshops further to enhance your learning and discovery of the habitat.
  • Climb the treehouse at Swamp Adventure, an indoor playground suitable for toddlers and older kids! Check out the playground’s opening hours and cleaning schedule here to plan your visit accordingly.
  • Take a walk on the wild side along the marsh to view mudskippers, fiddler crabs, dragonflies, wildflowers, and more!
  • View endangered and exotic birds in the bird hides equipped with telescopes!

  • Explore the Butterfly Garden
  • Take a break in the café with amazing views of the marsh. Spot the birds and wildlife!
  • Enjoy the giant grassy area for the kids to run wild + a life-size maze to get lost

Tips for visiting Hong Kong Wetland Park:

  • Autumn and Winter: Peak bird-watching season is November-March when thousands of birds migrate south to take shelter in the park.
  • Spring and Summer:  Best seasons to see butterflies, dragonflies and wildflowers.
  • All paths are stroller-friendly!
  • There’s very little shade around the paths, so don’t forget to bring hats/sunscreen
  • There’s a Mother’s Room designed for breastfeeding, and there are also baby changing tables in most toilets.

How to get there

To reach Tin Sau Station or Wetland Park from Tin Shui Wai Station on the Tuen Ma Line, you can transfer to LRT 705. This tram will take you through a tunnel to Tin Sau Station or to Wetland Park Station, depending on your destination. You can also get there by bus, private car or taxi, even by bicycle – it’s on a major cycling track! Bicycle storage is provided.
