While some are more popular than others, the playrooms are cleaned regularly and offer a free alternative for indoor play in areas that don’t have many choices. There are often other add-on activities in the same facility, like a library or market. There are free indoor playrooms all over Hong Kong, but we round up the best 10 here for you and your tykes.

*The playrooms are open, however, always call the playroom in advance as COVID has made it very tricky on time changes. Get the latest scoop by calling directly! You should also keep an eye on maintenance days (closed and location-dependent).
*Government playrooms in Hong Kong are geared for kids ages 4-9 and not exceeding 142cm. Kids under 4 must have a parent or guardian with them!

Wong Nai Chung Complex: Indoor Playroom In Happy Valley
Happy Valley families can meet their fellow neighbours at one of the two playrooms in this complex. Choose from either the Castle theme or Ocean World theme, both are opened daily from 8am (except maintenance days). Afterwards, take a stroll around the horse track or simply lunch at one of the many family-friendly restaurants nearby for a true family outing.

Sun Yat Sen Sports Centre: Indoor Playroom In Sai Ying Pun
Steps from the pool and grassy picnic area with views of the Harbor, what’s not to love about the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre? Measuring 130m2, the fun-filled circus-themed playroom has toys for kids to play together, teaching them how to interact with others and meet new friends. Siu Sai Wan Sports Centre: Indoor Playroom In Siu Sai Wan
Your kids can burn off some steam amidst the murals depicting skyscrapers and buildings making up this city playroom on the Western side of Hong Kong. The 150m2 playroom is conveniently located at the heart of the neighbourhood and the perfect place for junior to meet other friends, run around and settle down before heading home. It's popular and the sessions are 45 minutes each. We love the mini climbing wall.

Smithfield Municipal Services Building: Indoor Playroom in Kennedy Town
Happy bunches living in K-Town will be in for a treat as there’s a playroom conveniently located in your neck of the woods. Get your active little ones to roar it out at this dinosaur-themed playroom.
