Matilda Hospital offers two health education courses. The eight-hour childcare course course is designed specifically for amahs taking care of young kids. At HK$1,200, this course covers child development and play plus tips on how to respond to different stages in a child’s development: weaning, potty training and teething. The second course is an eight-hour first aid course that covers emergency situations and includes CPR and basic first aid. This course costs HK$1,500. You can sign your helper up for both courses at a special package price of HK$2,300.

Enrich is the leading Hong Kong charity promoting the economic empowerment of migrant domestic workers. Their workshops equip migrant women with the tools to save, budget, and plan for greater financial security. A favorite course is Money Wise which teaches helpers how to focus on the long-term goals, understand how to do basic money management, and discusses the ins and outs of financial loans and other options. They run workshops in multiple languages including Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, and Tagalog.
