GIIS embraces experiential learning for all its students from Nursery through Grade 12 and starts early with its kindergarten students. The many experiential learning opportunities for early learners include:

Montessori Lab: The Montessori Labs provide students with hands-on learning in both numeracy and literacy using manipulatives. Students thrive as they experiment and work/play by themselves. This ensures that they gain knowledge and skills in a motivating and fun environment and their early learners love coming to school every day!

STEAM-Based Learning: Teachers carefully plan activities for their students that enable them to gain valuable sensory, cognitive and problem-solving skills doing science, math and artistic activities. In a lesson on color mixing, for example, teachers provide paint and water to enable students to create a rainbow effect and learn about primary and secondary colors. This makes learning fun and helps build curiosity about the world around them.

Outdoor Learning: Kindergarten students have easy access to the Mist and Nest areas of the Punggol campus, where they take turns watering plants regularly, play on their tricycles and have outdoor exploration sessions. Students at the East coast campus have different outdoor play areas and participate in herb planting activities in the organic garden.
