Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has opened its long-awaited Terminal 2 (T2). This stunning new space has been designed to blend cutting-edge technology with world-class passenger comfort. Terminal 2 is a modern, high-tech travel hub built to handle up to 30 million passengers annually. This sleek, 280,000 sqm concourse features 27 gates, located directly north of the existing Terminal 1 and south of the new third runway. Passengers can travel seamlessly between the expanded T2 and the concourse via an underground Automated People Mover (APM) system. Designed by Aedas, every element of T2’s architecture reflects functionality, efficiency, and cutting-edge design.
The Perfect Home for Low-Cost and Regional Airlines
Terminal 2 is serves low-cost and regional airlines, including Hong Kong Express (from June 10, 2026), Hong Kong Airlines (from May 27, 2026), AirAsia (from May 28, 2026) and GBA Airlines (from June 3, 2026), making it an ideal departure point for short-haul and leisure travelers (click here for the full list). Travelers will enjoy easier commutes with two new platforms at Airport Station, launching alongside T2. The Airport Express trains will now feature dual-sided door openings, allowing passengers to quickly access either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. Clear signage ensures hassle-free journeys for all.
