For 30 years, Treasure Island Group has been part of life on Lantau, bringing people together through adventure, outdoor education, community and a love of the natural environment.
What began with Adrienne Ng in Pui O in 1996 has grown into a diverse Hong Kong business, from outdoor programmes and events to beachfront hospitality and community initiatives. Yet at its heart, the philosophy remains the same: Adventure, Community and Environment.
As Treasure Island celebrates three decades, it is looking back on the experiences, people and places that have shaped its journey – while looking ahead to the next generation.
The Scoop – What to Expect:
- Experiences for different ages & groups: The programme spans outdoor education, adventure and recreation, with experiences designed for families, young people, schools, businesses and the wider community. Book Surf Camps, Adventure Camps, which include raft building and gorging, and Extreme Camps, with activities such as abseiling and mountain biking.
- A strong community connection: The 30th anniversary programme is intended to reconnect Treasure Island with the community that has grown alongside it, while introducing new people to its work.
- More ways to experience Lantau: Alongside outdoor activities, Treasure Island offers community events and food, drink and private events at Beach Club by Treasure Island plus camping and cabana options if you want to stay overnight.
What is Treasure Island Group in Lantau?
Based in Pui O, Treasure Island Group offers families a range of ways to spend time outdoors, from adventure camps and outdoor education programmes to camping, cabanas and beach activities. Parents can also book birthday parties and private celebrations, while the beachfront restaurant and bar provide a place to eat and relax after a day outdoors.
Besides camps, does Treasure Island offer equipment rentals and lessons?
Yes, you can book surf or stand-up paddleboard lessons (cash deposit of HK$500 required). You can also rent surfboards, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and bodyboards plus beach lounge sets. Check the prices here.
Tell us more about the cabanas and apartments?
Treasure Island offers several family-friendly overnight options at Pui O Beach, including three beachfront cabana rooms that are perfect for families but also make a great getaway for couples and singles too. The large family tents sleep two adults and two or three children. There is also a three-bedroom, pet-friendly apartment for families looking for more space.
