Roald Dahl’s timeless classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is coming to life on stage in Hong Kong this winter. The musical premieres on November 4, 2026, at the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, and promises an unforgettable experience for families and theatre lovers alike.
First premiering on Broadway in 2017, this spectacular production combines dazzling visuals, show-stopping stagecraft, and a delightful blend of beloved classics like Pure Imagination, The Candy Man, and I’ve Got a Golden Ticket. Adding to the magic are original songs created by Grammy and Tony Award-winning duo Mark Shaiman and Scott Whitman.
The creative magic continues with visionary work by Tim Clothier, a Las Vegas magic and illusion specialist, bringing Willy Wonka’s world of wonder to life. Starring Daniel Plimpton as the enigmatic Willy Wonka and Oliver Wong as the charming Charlie Bucket, the cast features a lineup of seasoned Broadway performers who will transport audiences into this sweet-filled adventure.
Adding to the excitement, The Peninsula has partnered as the official hotel partner, offering magical themed stays, dining experiences, and exclusive packages for fans of the show.
Don’t miss your chance to step into a world of pure imagination!
