West Java Adventure At Tanjung Lesung Sailing Club

Want to get away for the weekend, but don’t want to jump on a plane? Just 4 hours west of Jakarta is the Tanjung Lesung Sailing Club, a fun-filled family and pet-friendly resort. While not luxurious, the sailing club is comfortable, clean and, most importantly, a kid’s paradise! * Sail: Rent one of the club’s Lasers or Optimists (complete with an instructor), and be amazed as your child skillfully navigates the breeze.

* Fish: Plan a day of trolling for tuna and tenggiri in the Sundra Strait.

* Play: Trek through a local rainforest, surf, snorkel, off-road bike, play a game of football, volleyball, or pool.

* Visit a Volcano: Book a boat trip to the Krakatau volcano complex and stay overnight at the National Wildlife Park at Ujung Kulon and see where the 60 remaining Java one-horn rhinos live with the endangered Javanese black panther, sea eagle and other rare animals.

Club owner David Baylis has created a delicious menu of local and international food at the al fresco restaurant on site, including hamburgers, spring rolls, satay and local fish dishes that will entice everyone in your party. Enjoy cold beers and relax as your kids hunt for seashells and climb the nearby banyan tree. Return home relaxed and renewed and hoping that your kids will ask to go back the next weekend!
