Hidden Forests is a cross-disciplinary arts and culture program that will consist of several events, programs and experiences with a little something for everyone in the family. The program is inspired by the devastating loss of trees over the great Typhoon Mangkhut that hit Hong Kong last summer. The program will focus on local ecology to celebrate the biodiversity and beauty of the trees that decorate our city.
Here are a few of the highlights that you can look forward to:
* Sally Bunker is a botanical artist who will lead a workshop on flora rubbing with natural materials. The workshop will be conducted in English on Aug 3 from 3pm to 4pm and is free admission.
* Gavin Coates will be storytelling for young children in English on July 28 from 3pm to 4:30pm. Gavin is a celebrated illustrator and author of environmental children’s books and is also a landscape architect. This event is HK$120!
* Join the Urban Eco Tour in English on Aug 11 from 10amm to 1pm. Explore Hong Kong’s flora and fauna at Hong Kong Park. The cost is HK$80 for one adult and a child under 12 years old.
