If you haven’t already heard, Meta has released its latest app “Threads”, a social media platform deemed Twitter’s rival. It bears a close resemblance to the core of the long-beloved app that prioritizes tweets, or written messages, rather than pictures and videos. How is Threads different? Simple. It’s based on Instagram.
This new text-based platform automatically can automatically connect to your current Instagram following and followers so that it keeps you in the loop. This means this is brilliant for those who want to share their thoughts with the people they’re already comfortable with. You can of course still follow and be followed by users not on your Instagram. Think of Threads as BeReal, another app that was popular last year, but instead of sharing personal photos, it’s more conversation- based with words. Your Thread must be limited to 500 characters.
One thing to note: once you create a Threads account, it cannot be deleted without deleting your Instagram account as well. It’s kind of an all-or-nothing. You can however deactivate your Threads account, but it’s not a permanent solution.
If Threads is for you, go for it! But don’t worry if you’re content with your current social media runnings. In the case of the latter, give us a follow on Instagram and Twitter for more informative content!
Quick, easy, and functional!
Everyone!
Threads allows 500 characters per post, twice as much as Twitter.
