Ready, Set, Go! The HLG Kart Race Is Back This November

Register by November 1, 2023 for the HLG Kart Race, an annual community fundraising event that takes place in Discovery Bay! It features an exciting race down a 16-foot-long ramp, set up on the Discovery Bay Road cycle lane, specially designed for children aged 7-12. The event is made possible through the support of Harvey Law Group (HLG), who sponsor and build karts for the race, as well as participants who construct their own karts.

The race was first introduced in 2015 and has become a highly anticipated event each year. In the previous edition, 52 young competitors participated, engaging in over 220 races across seven different categories.

HLG will oversee the management of the event, with dedicated staff members ensuring smooth operations. The race itself will be coordinated by a team of passionate volunteers who generously contribute their time and effort. Safety measures will be in place, and all participants are required to bring and wear their own helmets and wear trainers. The race area will be sealed off from the main road with safety barriers. There will also be a First Aid Station set up along the way.

The primary objective of the HLG Kart Race is to raise funds for the Heep Hong Society, a charitable organization that focuses on providing training and education to children with various abilities. This includes children facing challenges such as autism and dyslexia. Any surplus proceeds from the event, after covering the necessary costs, will be directed toward supporting the valuable work carried out by the Heep Hong Society.

• Age of participants: 7 -12 years
• Registration: send this completed form to kartrace@harveylawcorporation.com by November 1, 2023 to sign up for the 2023 Kart Race
• Date: November 23, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 5:00PM (last race will be around 1:00PM), with different timeslots for different age groups. After the races, there will be a prize-giving ceremony
• Karts and equipment: the HK$250 registration fee includes a kart supplied by Harvey Law Group. Should participants elect to design and construct their own kart, the registration fee is waived. All karts are push karts with no engines or pedals. For kart specifications click here.
