In Pre-School 1, your child starts to talk about their thoughts using more than one-word sentences, and express a wide range of emotions. They begin to engage with people they’re familiar with, and listen and recall familiar stories. At this stage, children start to respond and ask simple questions while also learning to follow instructions. They learn to count and say their numbers and begin to give meaning by drawing or scribbling. Woodland’s Pre-School 1 program is designed to help your child surpass these milestones.

In Pre-School 2, children further develop their friendships, share ideas when playing and continue to carry on conversations with friends and adults. They become more aware of other people’s feelings and how they can comfort others or ask questions when unsure. Children also start to write and spell based on the sounds they hear, and learn to read simple sentences. Woodland also gently guides them as they begin to familiarise themselves with numbers.

In addition, the Woodland Mid-Levels campus offers an Academic Acceleration Program for families looking for a more academic approach. The program aims to accelerate your child’s reading, writing, phonics and maths skills while supporting their social-emotional English language development.
