Mount Fuji is Japan’s highest mountain and perhaps its most iconic natural landmark. In fact, it was named a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2013. The Mt. The Center consists of three buildings, the exhibition building, the north wing, and the west wing. The exhibition building is stunning to look at and has a slope that actually allows visitors to enjoy a simulation of the experience of climbing Mt. Fuji as they ascend the slope. Images from the climbing route are projected on the walls to add to the experience! The centre of the main exhibition room features a replica of Mt. Fuji that is made of Japanese paper. It acts as a screen and shows Mt. Fuji changing with the seasons. There’s also a movie theatre, a special exhibition room featuring paintings and results of investigations and an observation hall with an unobstructed view of the real Mount Fuji.
