Aqila Hot Spring Shenzhen With Kids: 24-Hour Spa, Games & Tips (2026/27)

Hot Pools And Massages For Parents, Unlimited Arcade Games And Ice Cream For The Kids

Updated: October 26, 2026

Heated indoor hot spring pool under a glowing blue glass ceiling at Aqila Hot Spring in Nanshan, Shenzhen

Aqila Hot Spring is a 24-hour spa in Nanshan that works for the whole family, which is rare in Shenzhen. Parents get hot pools, saunas and massages. Kids get 20+ free arcade and VR games, a craft zone, a play area and unlimited ice cream. It’s about 25 minutes by car from Shenzhen Bay Port, or a short taxi ride from the Shekou ferry.

Most Shenzhen spas are built for a girls’ weekend. Aqila is set up so the kids stay busy while you actually relax, and a 24-hour pass includes a free overnight stay, so there’s no rush to get back across the border.

Book your package online before you go. Trip.com and Klook deals are usually cheaper than paying at the door, and you just show your QR code on arrival.

Aqila covers two floors of Tianxia International Center, right next to Taoyuan Metro Station. It’s a hot spring spa first, with a heated pool, dry sauna, steam room, salt brick room and cave room. Around that sits a full games floor, a 9D cinema, a library, camping tents, KTV booths, billiards, table tennis and a Hanfu dress-up corner. There’s even an indoor dive pool for try-dives, which is very unusual for a Shenzhen spa.

It’s open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Come for the day, or stay the night and head home after breakfast.

Planning a bigger Shenzhen weekend? Our pick for an overnight stay is Andaz Shenzhen Bay, the closest of our recommended family hotels to Aqila, with an indoor heated pool and big views over the bay. See our full guide to family-friendly hotels in Shenzhen, then fill the rest of the trip with the best playrooms and playgrounds in Shenzhen, a morning at the WonderMeet indoor playground or a day of indoor snow skiing in Shenzhen.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON ARRIVAL: Checking In At Aqila Hot Spring

Bring Your ID, Change Into Spa Wear And Claim A Rest Pod Early

Aqila is easy to get around once you know how it works. Here’s what happens when you walk in.

    • Check in with ID: Every guest registers at the front desk with a valid ID, so bring your Home Return Permit or passport, plus your booking QR code.
    • Change into spa wear: Bathrobes, disposable underwear and branded toiletries are provided, along with lockers and Dyson hair dryers.
    • Pools and saunas first: The bath areas are separated by gender. Families meet back up in the shared lounges, games floor and fruit bar.
    • Claim your rest spot early: If you’re staying overnight, pick a “wormhole” rest pod, tatami room or tent as soon as you arrive. They go fast.
  • Free arcade machines and VR game stations for kids on the games floor at Aqila Hot Spring, Shenzhen

WHAT THE KIDS CAN DO: Games, Crafts And A Dive Pool

Free Arcade And VR Games, Hands-On Crafts And Unlimited Ice Cream

The games floor is what makes Aqila work for families. Here’s what’s included with entry.

    • Free arcade games: More than 20 arcade, racing, shooting and music games, plus claw machines and a basketball game.
    • VR and a 9D cinema: VR rides, a 9D panoramic cinema and dance machines.
    • Consoles and e-sports: PS5, Xbox and five e-sports rooms for older kids and teens.
    • Kids’ play area: A separate space for younger children to run around.
    • Craft zone: Kids can paint eggs, make slime, fuse beads, try pottery or make their own soap, then take their creations home.
    • KTV booths: Small singing rooms for a family sing-along.
    • Unlimited treats: Self-serve ice cream, fresh fruit and drinks all day.
    • Dive pool: An indoor dive pool offers coached try-dives. Diving was closed earlier this year, so check it’s running before you promise it to anyone.

Kids’ tickets: Babies carried in arms enter free, and kids under 1.2m pay half price. Trip.com sells an under-1.2m child ticket from US$14.99 (about HK$117).

WHICH PACKAGE TO BOOK: Our Pick For Families

Start With A 24-Hour Pass, Then Add A Massage

Every Aqila package includes the pools, saunas, games, fruit, drinks and a free overnight stay. Here’s how we’d choose.

    • Book this for a family day: A 24-hour pass with unlimited games and a free overnight stay, from about US$49 (about HK$384) on Trip.com. Add child tickets for kids under 1.2m.
    • Book this if you want a proper massage: The CNY 399 (about HK$435) Chinese or Thai full-body massage package with a 24-hour pass. You can sleep in the massage room afterwards at no extra cost.
    • Book this if you want a bit of everything: The CNY 399 lobby package with two lobby treatments, such as a foot massage, back scrub or facial, plus the 24-hour pass and overnight stay.

    Little Steps Insider Tips:

    • Check the bath rules for kids: Boys over one can’t go into the women’s area and girls can’t go into the men’s. Staff can help with bathing and changing, but it’s easiest if each child goes in with a parent of the same sex.
    • Bring kids’ toothpaste: A Hong Kong parent who stayed overnight with a 5-year-old said it was the only thing they needed to pack.
    • Leave snacks at home: Outside food isn’t allowed. With fruit, ice cream and a 24-hour dim sum kitchen inside, you won’t need it.
    • Set up WeChat Pay first: Paid extras like arcade tokens only take WeChat Pay, not Alipay.
    • Go on a weekday: Weekends and public holidays get crowded and noisy, especially overnight.
    • Overnight stay: Free with a 24-hour pass, but it’s a shared rest area, not a private room. You sleep in a capsule-style “wormhole” pod, a tatami room or a tent. It can get noisy, so light sleepers and families with toddlers may prefer to book a hotel like Andaz Shenzhen Bay nearby.
  • Fast ferry crossing Victoria Harbour with Hong Kong’s skyline behind, heading from Hong Kong to Shekou, Shenzhen

HOW TO GET TO AQILA HOT SPRING: Visiting From Hong Kong

Take The Ferry To Shekou Or Book A Private Car

Aqila is in Nanshan, on the western side of Shenzhen. These are the easiest ways to get there with kids.

    • Ferry to Shekou (our pick):
      • Ferries leave Sheung Wan for Shekou, and the trip takes about 50 minutes. Tickets are HK$80 for adults and HK$40 for kids aged 1-5. Under-1s ride free but need a ticket from the counter.
      • Book on Klook, then swap your QR code for a paper ticket at the terminal about 20 minutes before departure. Bring your travel documents.
      • Shekou is also in Nanshan, so it’s a short taxi ride to Aqila from the ferry terminal.

    Book Your Shekou Ferry Tickets

    • Private car (easiest with little ones):
      • Door to door with no changes or queues, which is easiest with toddlers, strollers and overnight bags.
      • Parking at Aqila is free while you’re there.

Book A Private Car From Hong Kong To Shenzhen

    • High-speed rail (fastest from Kowloon):
      • Take the high-speed train from West Kowloon to Futian, about 15 minutes. Book on the MTR high-speed rail website or app, Trip.com or Klook.
      • From Futian, take a taxi across the city to Aqila.
    • Travel documents: Many Hong Kong permanent residents can use their Home Return Permit for travel to mainland China. Other passport holders should check current visa rules before booking.

  • PLANNING YOUR VISIT: Hours, Prices And Address

    • Hours: Open 24 hours, every day of the year.
    • Prices: 24-hour packages from about US$49 (about HK$384) on Trip.com, and from CNY 399 (about HK$435) with a massage on the official site.
    • Kids: Babies in arms free, under 1.2m half price, over 1.2m full price.

  • How much does Aqila Hot Spring cost?

Packages start at CNY 399 (about HK$435) per person for a 24-hour pass, two lobby treatments, unlimited games and an overnight stay. Trip.com and Klook often have cheaper deals. Every ticket includes fruit, drinks, games and the pools, with no tips or service charges.

Is Aqila Hot Spring good for young kids?

Yes, especially for kids around 5 and up who will love the arcade, VR games and craft zone. Babies carried in arms enter free, and kids under 1.2m pay half price. The bath areas are separated by gender, so children over one go in with a parent of the same sex.

How do I get to Aqila Hot Spring from Hong Kong?

Our pick is the ferry from Sheung Wan to Shekou, about 50 minutes, then a short taxi ride to Aqila in Nanshan. With little ones, a private car is easiest, crossing at Shenzhen Bay Port and arriving about 25 minutes later. Parking is free during your stay.

Is Aqila or Tenz better for a spa day with kids?

Aqila suits families better if your kids want things to do, with a craft zone, 20+ free games and a kids' play area. Tenz is a seven-minute walk from Futian Port, so it's quicker for short trips. Choose Tenz for Futian, Aqila for Nanshan.

What else can we do near Aqila Hot Spring?

Nantou Ancient City is a short walk away, with its own stop on Line 12. Its restored lanes and cafes make an easy, free wander after your soak. Shenzhen Bay Park, with waterfront paths and playgrounds, is a short taxi ride south.
