Bringing your helper? Japan doesn’t generally recognize foreign domestic helpers, so Filipino helpers need a visa. From Hong Kong, they apply in person with their contract, your guarantee letter and flights that match yours, and processing takes about a week. Indonesian helpers can stay up to 15 days visa-free, but only with an e-passport that’s been registered for Japan’s visa waiver at a Japanese embassy or consulate before travel. Without that registration they need a full visa, so sort it out early.
