Technology-Enriched Environment
Nexus is an Apple Distinguished school, recognized as a centre of educational excellence that provides technology-rich learning environments to support learning goals. The school uses technology and devices as a vehicle to enhance learning and collaboration. It also works with digital coaches for both primary and secondary levels, who collaborate with teachers to integrate learner-centric technology and impart essential digital skills.
Authentic and Exciting Opportunities
Nexus provides authentic learning experiences where learners are asked to consider real-world problems. For instance, the school recently hosted a Hackathon where learners were challenged to present a tech-based solution to improve the Nexus experience for the school community.
On a separate project, a group of five learners developed a wellbeing app, NexWell, for the school community. As an app created by learners, for learners, it not only showcases the impressive coding work but also their dedication towards the betterment of mental wellbeing throughout the school.
Many of these opportunities and ideas are possible thanks to the Nexus teachers, who exemplify this innovative mindset themselves. In a first for an Asia-based school, one of their Primary PHE teachers, Sarah Cole, recently worked with leading brain fitness gym SPARKD to spearhead a brain fitness program at Nexus.
