With all the fabulous shops and eats in Stanley, we don’t blame you if you’ve missed Ma Hang Park. But before you get to brunching or shopping next time, take the kiddos to explore this peaceful gem just steps from Stanley Promenade. It’s a great way to weave a little nature and culture into your day on the Southside!

Built on the side of a cliff overlooking Stanley Bay, Ma Hang Park is full of lush plants and flowers, with educational plaques dotted around. There’s a stroller-friendly boardwalk throughout, with a safety railing to let the kiddos run free while you enjoy the gorgeous view! As you stroll, you’ll want to stop once and a while to check out the birds and bugs and butterflies.

At the end of the short walk, there is a giant Banyan tree that signals the entrance of tiny Pak Tai Temple, precariously built into the cliff. The temple was built in 1805 and dedicated to the “protector of the fisherman”. Walk around the temple, peek in, and definitely take some snaps. Gorgeous setting!
