Jurong Lake Garden’s signature event is back, this time just in time for Chinese New Year preparation! Kick-start your day at the Garden through the fun-filled series of children’s programs to learn more about Chinese Zodiac legends, cats, and the attractions and biodiversity! There’s also something in store for parents, where you can learn from speakers about growing edibles in your own high-rise apartments and creating decorative table displays for Chinese New Year!

Children’s Storytelling (9am to 10am)
Chinese New Year is coming, and it is The Year of the Tiger! But do you know the legend of how the tiger became part of the Chinese Zodiac? Get your little ones to hear about this exciting legend, and learn how to make a handprint Tiger craft to decorate your homes for this Chinese New Year!

I Am A Responsible Pet Owner (10am to 11am)
Are you and your little ones ready to own a pet? Learn more about providing basic care and understanding the various behaviors of pet animals. You will get to understand the importance of adopting a pet and what you can do to become a responsible pet owner! This event will introduce you to cats, where you can learn about cats, and meet NPark’s pet ambassador, Ginger, online!

Virtual Race to Forest Ramble (11:30am to 12:30pm)
Get ready for a fun learning session about the biodiversity and attractions found in the Jurong Lake Gardens! This online program requires you and your little ones to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles while moving through Lakeside Garden to reach Forest Ramble. Navigate together with your team from the start to the finish and see who reaches Forest Ramble first!

Grow Your Own Lady’s Fingers – Online (2:00pm to 2:45pm)
Commonly used in local and regional cuisines, Lady’s Finger is a popular vegetable that is often stir-fried or steamed with sambal and ikan bilis or added to rich, flavourful curries. Interested in growing and harvesting your very own Lady’s Fingers? Sign up for this gardening talk to learn about the range of varieties that you can grow and the basics that are needed to ensure a healthy crop that rewards you with a bountiful harvest for your family!

Create Your Own Decorative Table Displays for Lunar New Year – Online (4:00pm to 4:45pm)
Looking to add some greenery to your home and impress your friends and relatives this Lunar New Year? Sign yourself and your little ones for this talk and demonstration! You will learn about some basic aesthetic garden-making concepts and also demonstrate the steps that you can take to put together ornamental and edible plant displays for your home to bring festive cheer and usher in the Year of the Tiger!
