Outdoor Culture At Shakespeare In The Garden In Singapore!

The Tempest!

2020 Feb 21

If you’re missing the now-defunct Shakespeare in the Park, you’ll be delighted to know that Shakespeare in the Garden will be returning to Singapore! Join their all-female cast for a hilarious, pared-down, tongue in cheek version of The Tempest. The Tempest is a play by William Shakespeare, probably written in 1610–1611, and thought to be one of the last plays that Shakespeare wrote alone. It is a play about magic, betrayal, love, and forgiveness. It is set on an island somewhere near Italy where Prospero, the one-time Duke of Milan, and his beautiful daughter, Miranda, live with a sprite called Ariel and a strange wildman called Caliban. In Shakespeare in the Garden, expect the usual Handlebards style, riotous amounts of energy, a fair old whack of chaos, and a great deal of laughter. It’s fast, funny, and fearless. If you’ve never seen Shakespeare before, there’s no better introduction. If you are a bard buff you’ve never seen it done like this! And performed in the lush, green garden of a beautiful black and white heritage home. Pack your picnic blankets, tipples, and nibbles, then settle in to enjoy a wonderfully entertaining performance. Bring your family and friends and create memories to last a lifetime at Shakespeare in the Park.
