If your kids have been begging for a skateboard or you’re just looking to get them outside, check out Skate City! Hidden on the 17th floor in Mongkok, Skate City is a tiny shop full to the brim with all types of high-quality skateboards in a range of prices. You’ll find protective gear, funky accessories, shoes, clothing and more.

From classic woods, Penny and Street plastics, longboards, and scooters, Skate City has all the hottest rides in town. They also carry alternative products, like casterboards and freeline skates (small metal plates with 2 wheels for each foot). For beginners – who can be as young as 3 or 4 – the brightly colored plastic boards are best, as they are easiest to maneuver and wear well in Hong Kong’s humid weather. These can be customized for HK$200 or less, and some are even biodegradable!

So get on over to Skate City, and let shop manager Irene help you pick out some new wheels. With so many pretty colors to choose from, you may need to pick one out for yourself too! Wheels up!
