If you’re looking to add a bit of outdoor fun and exercise to an ordinary trip to the mall, head to TKO Spot. This Tseung Kwan O shopping mall, the only one in the area focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, has revamped its third-floor outdoor space transforming it into TKO Spot-field – the city’s largest rooftop sports space. Inspired by the Tokyo Olympics, the space is home to a range of Decathlon sports equipment so mall-goers can try out a variety of different sports as a prelude to adopting a longer-term exercise regimen.
The rooftop space is divided up into four different sports zones: Speed Avenue, Sea of Balls, Stretching Ring, and Fun Camp. The Speed Avenue is a racing circuit with slopes and obstacles for speed demons to cruise around on scooters, roller skates, and more. The Sea of Balls, as its name suggests, is the go-to spot for all games requiring a ball. With a lawn stretching over 3,000 square feet, the Stretching Ring features a variety of flexibility equipment, perfect for limbering up pre-workout. This is also the site where free yoga classes will be organized. And finally, at the Fun Camp, safari and picnic tents are available for families to enjoy some good quality time together outdoors.
TKO Spot-field is full of kid-friendly equipment such as basketball hoops, football goals, and gym and yoga equipment for children, all provided by French sports retailer Decathlon.
This is a fantastic outdoor space that will introduce kids to a wide variety of new sports and activities that they may not get to experience or be confident enough to try at school.
All kids. With the four different zones, there's something for everyone from speedsters and aspiring basketball players to those simply looking to stretch and enjoy the outdoors.
Parents in the waiting area can capture images of the kiddos doing all these fun activities using free DJI action cameras. So what are you waiting for? Drag the kids away from the video games and get them doing something active!
