The Harbour School Anniversary
Celebrating Ten Years Of Progressive Education
Founded as a Primary School in 2007, The Harbour School now offers preparatory, primary, middle and high school education and in May 2018 they celebrated their 10-year anniversary. At the same time, their first group of Grade 12 students successfully graduated to colleges of their choice. The school marked the milestone with a black-tie gala dinner which was held at The Grove campus in Ap Lei Chau, and a time capsule containing art, poems and stories, as well as other contributions from students, parents and teachers, to be opened at the school’s 20th anniversary.

The Harbour School offers the American curriculum to students but is a very inclusive education institution with a personal approach to learning. With a high teacher to student ratio, children get the attention they need to succeed. The school recently came second in a global competition for ’21st Century School of the Year’.

There’s a Preparatory school in Kennedy Town, a Primary school (Grade 1-6) at The Grove in Ap Lei Chau, and Middle and High Schools (Grade 7-8 and Grade 9-12 respectively) at The Garden in Ap Lei Chau.
What Else:
As part of the anniversary celebrations, The Harbour School has published a book titled ‘Against The Tide: Progressive Education at The Harbour School, Hong Kong’ which offers thought leadership opinion pieces on progressive education and practices at The Harbour School as well as a collection of photographs.
