The Child Development Centre (CDCHK) is a non-profit early intervention centre in Hong Kong that supports children with additional learning or developmental needs from birth to six years. They provide specialized education, assessment, and therapy under one roof, with a small 1:3 adult‑to‑child ratio so every child receives close, individual attention.
Their interdisciplinary team includes SEN teachers, Special Child Care Workers, speech, occupational, ABA and music therapists, and psychologists who work together to create personalised programmes for each child.
Using evidence-based, play-based approaches, they support key areas of early childhood development, including communication and language, physical development (fine and gross motor skills), social-emotional skills, early literacy (reading and writing), early numeracy (math), self-help, and independence.
Children learn in supportive small-group, “kindergarten-style” classes, as well as through individual therapy sessions, helping them build confidence, classroom readiness, and everyday life skills. Programs are offered in both English and Chinese, and families of all nationalities are welcome.
At CDC, their goal is simple: they believe all children can develop their strengths and flourish. Through quality learning experiences tailored to each individual child, they also empower families to support their child’s development.
At the Child Development Centre, an interdisciplinary team of SEN teachers, therapists, and psychologists working together on your child’s developmental and learning goals. With a 1:3 teacher‑to‑child ratio, they can closely monitor progress and adjust support accordingly.
Parents who want ongoing, expert support in caring for a child with learning or developmental needs and families looking for professionals to help their child communicate, learn, grow and participate more confidently at home, in kindergarten and in the community.
They offer a free developmental screening for children under eight, helping parents understand key milestones in development. Where appropriate, they support referrals to Hong Kong Pre‑school Rehabilitation Services so children can receive timely help.
