Fun with Clay
Looking for some new ideas for afterschool classes this year? For kids 6 and up, check out the ceramics classes at The Pottery Workshop in Soho. The wonderful teachers are all artists themselves and do a great job of making kids feel at home while inspiring their creativity.
Students are given a lump of clay, and learn the process of turning it into something beautiful with their hands – from rolling and scoring to glazing and firing. Nothing is done for them that they can do themselves! Students are proud to go home with unique pieces of art that are often functional as well.
