Got a kid who never sits still? HYROX Youngstars, the kids’ version of the global fitness race, is coming to Hong Kong! It’s for 8-15 year olds and mixes short runs with eight workout stations, all scaled for age. Kids get a safe, fun taste of race day.
Youngstars started in Amsterdam in January 2026, when more than 1,500 young athletes took part, and it’s now a permanent global series. It comes to AsiaWorld-Expo on 9–10 January 2027 as part of AIA HYROX Hong Kong.
Girls and boys race separately in four age groups. The 8-9s and 10-11s race on Saturday, and the 12-13s and 14-15s race on Sunday. Distances, weights and moves change with age. The youngest racers do frogger jumps, and wall balls start at age 12. Kids don’t need any experience, and one parent or legal guardian ticket comes with each entry.

The Scoop
HYROX Youngstars lets the whole family share race day, and kids never have to tackle the adult course. Parents hand their child over at the start zone. From there, you can follow along the run track (behind fences) and cheer from the viewing areas at each station. Meanwhile, your little athlete builds grit and confidence and gets to feel what crossing a real finish line is like.
Family-friendly tips:
What is HYROX Youngstars and who can join?
HYROX Youngstars is the kids’ version of the global fitness race for ages 8-15. It mixes short run laps with eight age-scaled workout stations in a fixed order. Girls and boys race separately in four groups: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15. No experience is needed, and one parent or legal guardian ticket comes with each entry.
When and where is HYROX Youngstars Hong Kong 2027?
It runs on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 January 2027 at AsiaWorld-Expo as part of AIA HYROX Hong Kong (7-10 January). The 8-9s and 10-11s race on Saturday; the 12-13s and 14-15s race on Sunday. Age on race day decides the group, not the age when you book. Book via the official HYROX Hong Kong event page.
Do kids need experience or special training for Youngstars?
No. Kids can start with zero experience. Distances, weights and moves are scaled by age (frogger jumps for the youngest; wall balls from age 12). Sign up for the Youngstars newsletter for a free 12-week training plan from the HYROX Academy. The official rulebook lists exact standards for each group so you can practise at home or at a gym.
Can parents watch or race on the same day as their child?
Yes. A registered guardian must check the child in, stay for the whole race, and collect them at the end. Parents can follow the run track behind fences and cheer from viewing areas. Adult races also run on both days. If you race the same day, name another responsible adult on the Legal Guardian ticket. Racing on Thursday or Friday is easier if you want to watch.
How do age groups and tickets work for HYROX Youngstars?
Book the group that matches your child’s age on 9 January 2027. The Flex Add-On (added at purchase only) lets you swap to another child in the same gender and age group up to one day before. There are no refunds on Youngstars tickets. For more on the adult event, see the HYROX Hong Kong 2027 guide.
