Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance
Dragon Lit By 24,000 Incense Sticks!

Looking for a unique way to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival? Attend the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance for a memorable celebration with the family. The fire dragon dance originated in 9th century Tai Hang to ward off bad luck from their village. Today in our bustling city of Hong Kong, the Tai Hang residents have allowed the tradition to live on as an exciting celebration and a unique piece of cultural heritage.

The dragon in this three day performance is 67 meters in length, weigh 70 kg and is carried by 300 performers who carry the fire dragon that is set alight by 24,000 incense sticks. With beating drums and sparkling fire crackers, this event is not one to be taken lightly. Be sure that the kids feel comfortable with loud noises and bright lights before taking them to this festivity!

For a good vantage point, situate the family at Wun Sha street and be sure to check the parade map.
