The Hong Kong government announced recently a series of exciting new family-friendly events and offers with the aim of revitalizing the city’s nighttime economy. Night Vibes Hong Kong will take place from mid-September 2023 to the first quarter of 2024 and includes a variety of activities organized by shopping malls, such as dining and consumption offers, as well as extended opening hours.
To promote nighttime consumption, the Hong Kong Tourism Board will offer “Hong Kong Night Treats” dining vouchers, night tours, and organize the Hong Kong WinterFest, a festive event with a giant Christmas tree. Ocean Park will also host a New Year’s Eve countdown party, and an outdoor New Year Countdown Celebration with fireworks will take place.
Other events include the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo, the enhancement of Temple Street Night Market, Lunar New Year fairs, and the International Chinese New Year Night Parade in Tsim Sha Tsui.
In early 2024, the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau will actively promote the organization of activities in various districts throughout Hong Kong.

One of the highlights is the Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnivals 2023, which will be held at various locations such as the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, Victoria Park, Sha Tin Park, and Tuen Mun Park. The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, a traditional event taking place in Tai Hang, will be back after a four year hiatus from September 28 to 30, 2023. It showcases the vibrant Fire Dragon Dance performed by the Tai Hang Residents' Welfare Association.
Ocean Park will host the Ocean Park Halloween Fest and Ocean Park Eco Night Exploration. The Halloween Fest will be open to park ticket holders with extended opening hours, while the Eco Night Exploration allows visitors to explore the park's nighttime ecology and learn about Hong Kong's biodiversity.
Hong Kong Disneyland will celebrate Disney Halloween Time, featuring special events and attractions for visitors to enjoy. Water World at Ocean Park will host two music festivals: "Space Music Festival: The Cosmic Splash" and the NewBomb Concert as well as a spooky Halloween party.
Let's soak in all the cutlure! Several museums, including the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Science Museum, and the Hong Kong Space Museum, will extend their opening hours to 10pm on Fridays, weekends and public holidays for a nighttime museum experience during an eight-week trial starting from September 29, 2023.
M+ at Night will provide in-gallery activities and workshops at West Kowloon Cultural District from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on October 6, 2023.
Various activities will be held at Wan Chai Harbourfront, Belcher Bay Promenade, and Kwun Tong Promenade on weekends, offering performances, cultural events, markets, and guided tours. Night IT Up at Hong Kong Science Park and the surrounding public spaces will offer festive events, dining, and consumption offers on weekend evenings. Tai Kwun, located in Central, will host a variety of performances, art exhibitions, and food events for six months from October 2023 to February 2024.
The National Day Fireworks Display will be jointly sponsored by HKT Limited and FWD Life Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited, lighting up Victoria Harbour on October 1, 2023 and promises to be spectacular this year. The 2023 Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival will be held at Central Harbourfront Event Space from October 26 to 29, offering a four-day physical event featuring wine and food. Additionally, there will be a month-long citywide dining promotion called "Taste Around Town."
