Hongkong Land, supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and district partners, turns the city’s banking district into a 15-night Halloween playground. Halloween in Central runs Saturday, October 17-Saturday, October 31, 2026, with four free-to-wander large-scale installations at Statue Square Gardens (South) every evening, plus four themed days on Chater Road.

The centrepiece is I Am Watching You, a giant eyeball rising over the fountain, joined by The Awakening, a monumental gateway; the photo-ready Coffin Throne; and The Jail, a haunted reimagining of the pavilion. Everything lights up from 4pm, so families can do a costume walk-through before dinner.

Saturday, October 24 is the one to circle with kids: Monster Mash Fest – Family Day brings costumes, face painting, themed bouncy-castle sessions, performances and Halloween treats. The programme opens Saturday, October 17 with Boo-st Your Mood – Pickleball Day in partnership with Pick & Match, then Sunday, October 18, 3-10pm is the OPEN by HE.R kick-off street party. Saturday, October 31 closes with cosplay, roving characters, and installations glowing until 1am.

Halloween In Central Event Details

Who: Families, costume-mad kids and anyone who wants Central after dark without a theme-park ticket. October 24 is the sweet spot for little monsters, October 17 suits sporty kids, and October 31 runs latest and busiest.
When: Saturday, October 17–Saturday, October 31, 2026. Installations at Statue Square Gardens nightly 4:00pm–11:30pm, and on October 31 until 1:00am on November 1. Chater Road special happenings run on 17, 18, 24 and 31 October only, hours varying by event:
- Sat, Oct 17 – Boo-st Your Mood – Pickleball Day with Pick & Match, a wellness-focused afternoon of active fun (walk-in sign-up)

The Scoop – What to Expect

This is a heritage-led Halloween grown out of Central, not shipped in from a warehouse – which is why a giant eyeball ends up over a colonial-era fountain and the Statue Square pavilion becomes a jail. Kids can hunt all four pieces from 4pm, then duck into an air-conditioned mall when the lights get moodier.
October 17 is the sleeper hit for active kids: pickleball on Chater Road is a novelty even without costumes. October 24 is the proper family win — face painting, bouncy-castle sessions and performances, no scare maze in sight.
Pre-game on the official site: a Halloween photo booth and a 60-second Zombie Hunt game, enough to occupy siblings on the MTR ride in.
Skip October 31 with toddlers – the cosplay finale runs past midnight, though roving characters make it a treat for older kids. October 18’s kick-off is an open-air soundsystem party (ANDHIM, Charmeine, HE.R Soundsystem, CASAMUSICA); bring ear protection and an early exit plan.

Which day is best if I am bringing young kids?

Saturday 24 October is Monster Mash Fest – Family Day: costumes, face painting, henna, a themed bouncy castle (on-site timed slots, fee), performances and sweets. Skip 31 Oct with toddlers; that night is the cosplay finale and runs past midnight. October 17 is pickleball on closed Chater Road if your kids like sport more than scares.

Do I need tickets for the OPEN by HE.R party?

Is Halloween in Central stroller-friendly?

Yes on event days: Chater Road is pedestrianised. Hunt the giant eyeball, gateway, coffin throne and jail from 4pm, then duck into a mall for a snack. On 17, 24 and 31 Oct, costumed guests can ride Citybus’s Halloween open-top route and dressed-up Ding Ding trams free when legs give out.

Where can I grab last-minute costumes in Central?
