Lamma House is a new seafood and restaurant and bar to grace the shores of family-friendly Lamma Island. The restaurant is decorated in a luxurious European style and there is a lounge area where you can enjoy sundowners and drinks as well as a dining area for a more formal meal. They host DJs at the weekends and are becoming a popular event venue thanks to its cool setting and easy convenience from Central. Looking for new restaurants to try with the family on a summer weekend? Head on down to Repulse Bay. They've got a new vibrant family restaurant called Sip Song! The restaurant is inspired by the beach culture along the southern Thai coast and of course, serves Thai food. Some of the highlights on the menu are roti pancakes with BBQ pork, ube ice cream with coconut and whole steamed mullet fish for the seafood fans!

Thai Dao is a lovely Thai restaurant which overlooks the seafront in Sai Kung. The dishes can be quite mild when it comes to Thai food, so it's perfect for the little ones who can't quite handle the spice yet. The staff are super friendly and will happily help any picky eater to find the right dish for them. If you can score a table outside, the view of the seafront is exquisite; but remember to bring your anti-mosquito spray for the entire family! There are kayaks for rent right next door so bring the swimsuits.

Coconut Thai Bar & Grill has long been a favorite among Southside dwellers, with it being open all day and serving modern Thai cuisine with a killer view! Head down to Bathers for some stunning views of the ocean, formally known as The Beach House on Cheung Sha Beach. Bathers is owned by husband-and-wife restaurateurs Chris Woodyard and Bronwyn Cheung of Woolly Pig, Big Sur, S'ate, Mr. Chipper, and 12000Francs. Wanting a more laid-back affair with no frills but still good service and great food? Head on over to Zaks in Discovery Bay. Zaks is a favorite amongst the DB-dwellers, which is always a good sign. It is also the largest restaurant in the area with 2 floors and 5,000 sq. ft of outdoor space, thus plenty of seats for everyone. It's located on the water promenade, just a 2-minute walk from the ferry pier and it has a spectacular view of the beach.

Grab the kids for a day trip to tiny Po Toi Island and sample some of the best calamari in Hong Kong! Dine al fresco on a huge outdoor wooden deck at Ming Kee Restaurant, known to be the city's top calamari restaurant. It's just 3km off HK's southeastern tip, but feels like a real getaway! Be sure to make reservations at the weekend, as it gets packed, and order extra garlic for dipping!

When walking into Limewood, you immediately get the sensation you are on a Caribbean holiday. The Seabreeze color is super soothing, gorgeous, and is used throughout the entire restaurant to give you the holiday vibes. This restaurant is fantastic for larger groups, the food is South-east Asian, Caribbean and Hawaiian inspired, and they specialize in barbeque. A whole seabass with charred limes and chimichurri sauce and grilled corn on a cob with coconut flakes will surely get the mouths watering.

Nestling on the shores of Three Fathoms Cove on the Sai Kung coastline is a gem of a restaurant. This three-story Mediterranean style house situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Sai Kung. It may be an out of the way restaurant (30 or so minutes drive from Central) but, without a doubt, it is well worth the journey. They use organic produce, grown in their neighboring farm. The menu changes every month to ensure that repeat customers are delighted with each visit. Enjoy a 4-course lunch for HK$600 or 6-course dinner for HK$1200.

Fratelli is an ideal place to feast on pasta, healthy salads, and beautiful Italian desserts after a day at the beach making sandcastles. Treasure Island Restaurant & Bar opened in 2018 in the former Mavericks space and is soon becoming a favorite with locals and visitors alike. Seafood lovin’ families heading to Sai Kung often find that they’re overwhelmed by choice! Get your lovely bunch away from the crowds by hopping on a sampan to Trio Beach in Sai Kung – said to be one of the cleanest beaches in all of Hong Kong! There is no restaurant on the beach but you can pack a BBQ to enjoy with the kids by the sea. Or, take the sampan back to Padstow – a charming restaurant with lovely views of the yacht club beyond.
