Move over, internet—there are some new stars in town! The Mandai Wildlife Reserve family just got a little bit bigger (and a whole lot cuter) with the arrival of two new baby capybaras at River Wonders. Born on 4 January 2026, these tiny “water hogs” are already melting hearts across the island.
Because capybaras are precocial, these pups were born fully furred and ready to explore within hours of birth. To help you catch a glimpse of them taking their first tiny steps, we’ve put together the perfect 2026 Mandai Double-Feature Itinerary.
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: River Wonders Morning Exploration
Start your morning at River Wonders while the animals are most active.
Panda Forest: Say hello to Le Le and his parents. Morning is the best time to see them munching on fresh bamboo.
Amazon Flooded Forest: Watch the manatees “fly” underwater in the world’s largest freshwater gallery.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: The Main Event: Amazon River Quest
Board the Amazon River Quest boat ride for the best view of the new arrivals.
The Pups: Keep your eyes peeled towards the end of the boat ride. The two new pups are often found huddling close to their mum near the water’s edge or exploring the soft banks of the exhibit.
Booking Tip: This boat ride requires a separate ticket. In 2026, it is highly recommended to book your slot via the Mandai App at least 48 hours in advance.
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Fuel Up at Mandai Wildlife West
Take a break at the public Mandai Wildlife West area located between the parks.
Dining: Grab a quick bite at A&W or enjoy a sit-down meal at Birds of Paradise for some floral-themed gelato.
Free Play: Let the kids hit the Pangolin Adventure playground to burn off some steam while you plan the second half of the day.
1:45 PM – 4:00 PM: Singapore Zoo Classics
Head over to the Singapore Zoo to catch the legendary presentations.
Splash Safari: Catch the 2:00 PM show to see the California sea lion show off its skills.
Fragile Forest: A must-visit 2026 favorite where you can walk among free-ranging lemurs and mousedeer.

4:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Cool Down at KidzWorld
End your day at the revamped KidzWorld.
Splash Pad: Bring swimwear! The water play area is the ultimate finale for a hot Singapore day.
Animal Buddies: Kids can participate in “Ranger for a Day” mini-sessions and pet the friendly goats.

The 2-Attractions Pass: Don’t buy individual tickets! The 2-Attractions Destination Pass is the best value for families.
Stay Hydrated: There are water refill stations located every 200 meters. Bring your own reusable bottles to stay eco-friendly!
Capybara Swag: Stop by the gift shop at the end of River Wonders and pick up a capybara plushie!
It’s a rare chance to see nature’s "chillest" animals in their cutest, most miniature form right here in Singapore.
Animal-loving families and "capybara-obsessed" teens looking for that perfect, heart-melting reel or photo.
You get to see them via a boat ride, adding an extra layer of adventure that makes the discovery feel like a real jungle expedition.
