Sun’s out, fun’s out! With the imminent summer months promising increasingly hot weather all around, an easy way to get the kids cooled down is by getting them soaked silly. The best part? Singapore has many water parks to beat the heat at, and they’re absolutely free! Here’s our guide to where to get doused in heap-loads of bliss together.

  • SPLASH-N-SURF

    Amidst the running tracks, stadium lights and Olympic-sized pool at Singapore Sports Hub lies a kid-friendly escape. Situated on the third floor of Kallang Wave Mall, families can spot this outdoor water area easily from its colorful exteriors and expansive size. While admission rates apply for their Lazy River and mini-surf station, their free play area is enough to make the kids go wild.

  • KIDZPLAY @ NEX *Closed until further notice

    You’ll find one of the biggest mall playgrounds at nex at Serangoon Central, boasting both dry and wet play zones with vast spaces that allow kids to run to their heart’s content. There are plenty of ways to get soaked too – from water buckets and cannons, to a walkway surrounded with spray jets. Open every afternoon from 1pm to 8pm, all you’d need to do is keep an eye out for safety and leave the rest to the children’s imagination!

  • WESTGATE WONDERLAND

    Step into a mystical and magical world at Westgate shopping mall, where young ones will undoubtedly be impressed with their surroundings at every turn. After you’re done putting a smile on the their faces at the “Fantasy Garden” area, head to the giant yellow watering can to start getting drenched in fun! Don’t let the kids catch a cold either by making use of the free blow-dry room once they’re done.

  • PALAWAN PIRATE SHIP *THIS IS CLOSED

    Ahoy, mate! It doesn’t get any more themed than the gigantic pirate ship that sits invitingly on Palawan Beach in Sentosa. The spacious playground is every young pirate’s dream adventure – there’s slides galore, a map for role-playing fun and decks for them to climb on for a better view of the surroundings. If the kiddos want to get absolutely doused, they can wait for the giant bucket that will awash them with a powerful flush.

  • FAR EAST ORGANIZATION CHILDREN’S GARDEN

    Gardens by the Bay is a great destination to bring the kids to, especially since they have a large water play space at their Children’s Garden section. The tall spray jets present plenty of opportunities for kids to join in some splashing good time, and the structures are motion-sensitive to form different water patterns, which provide an interactive element. There’s also lockers if you intend to join in with the kids!

  • SKY PARK @ VIVOCITY

    Probably the most recognizable water playground in Singapore is the outdoor area at VivoCiy’s third level. Step outside and join the perpetual crowds relaxing by the waterfront, by hopping right in the host of experiences that includes a low-rise pool for both young and old. While the little ones can wade around and get immersed in the experience, parents can keep watch by sitting on the boardwalk and dip their toes in the relaxing waters too!

  • THE 3 HOUSE @ CHANGI CITY

    Just like how its named after a treehouse, The 3 House at Changi City Point is a great alternative to conventional playgrounds. The treetop dry zone is equipped with an obstacle trail, but for more thrills, the wet play area is where the action awaits. Filled with water sprays and swings, your child will definitely not want to leave. Hungry? Head next door to Koufu to grab a bite while waiting.

  • HAPPY PARK @ WATERWAY POINT

    Put a smile on the kids’ faces at Waterway Point’s Happy Park. Right next to picturesque views of the waterway, children can explore the wet playground, decorated with safe rubber flooring and floral-shaped fountains that even play music. Don’t miss out on the giant funnel structures, that pours water when the kids climb from within – a super creative way to stay cool in the blistering heat!

  • ROOFTOP PLAYGROUND @ TAMPINES 1

    Open daily, the not-so-hidden gem at the top of Tampines 1 shopping mall is full of adorable attractions. From the water spraying hippos to the seal-shaped slides, kids and toddlers will relish spending a couple of hours here. The “Antarctica” area is not only a visual treat, but also where kids can take turns on the exhilarating polar bear slide. It can get crowded during peak hours, so make sure to head there early!
