THE STAY: Bright and Modern Family Rooms

The resort has three distinctive hotel towers around a central garden. Each holds Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star and two MICHELIN Key recognition.

    • Grand Lisboa Palace Macau
    • THE KARL LAGERFELD
    • Palazzo Versace Macau

Rooms feel spacious, bright and contemporary, and many overlook the lush Jardim Secreto (the kids will love running around here!) for calm views amid the grand architecture. The overall design mixes chic elegance, maritime-inspired details and high-fashion touches, creating a comfortable base for families.

Little Shea Insider Tip: Shea stayed at Grand Lisboa Palace Macau and loved it! It offered huge rooms and fabulous views. THE KARL LAGERFELD is more design-oriented, with a rather epic library to explore. Palazzo Versace Macau is another great option with its designer styling and amazing pool. Request a garden-view room if available. The view of Jardim Secreto at dusk is magical and gives little ones a calm, green outlook instead of the busier Cotai Strip. The rooms are genuinely bright and modern, so packing light works well.

DINING HIGHLIGHTS: Where to Eat With Kids

Eating at the resort is easy because the options cover different moods and ages. Team Little Steps tried three places that worked well with kids: a stylish café for a treat, a more adventurous Southeast Asian and Turkish spot, and a straightforward Italian that keeps everyone happy. Browse all restaurants and bars at Grand Lisboa Palace.

Vivienne Westwood Café: This café pays tribute to the British designer with refined British dishes (fish and chips, Shepherd's Pie, scones and the Orb-shaped waffle) in a bold, theatrical setting with tartan details and a World's End clock. It works well for afternoon tea or a special mom-and-me stop.

Little Shea Insider Tip: Go for the Seasonal Afternoon Tea if the timing fits. The stands and Orb waffle make for great photos, and kids enjoy the playful presentation. It is better as a special treat than a full dinner. The store is right next door, and we might have snagged a cool jacket!

Bamboo Hut: The space feels like a bright outdoor market with open kitchens. The menu moves between Turkey, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam (Adana Kebab, Tom Yum, Singapore-style fried crab). It is a good place when you want more flavor than plain hotel food.

Little Shea Insider Tip: Sit near the open kitchen so kids can watch the chefs. The flavors are bold, so ask for milder versions if your children are sensitive to spice.

Mamma Pizza: A cozy Italian with fresh pizzas made in open kitchens, pastas, salads and their signature Tiramisu. It is the simplest option when everyone is hungry and you do not want to negotiate the menu.

Little Shea Insider Tip: This is the reliable "everyone's happy" meal. Walk-ins only, so go slightly off-peak. The open kitchen and casual setup keep it low-stress with kids. It is surrounded by a mega toy store and loads of fun things to do, including AI Wonderland and Sportopia.

CULTURE: A Free Art Gallery and Art All Around

Art is a big part of the Grand Lisboa Palace experience, both in a dedicated gallery and throughout the hotels.

Art also appears throughout the hotels and public areas, so the resort itself feels like part of the experience.

Little Shea Insider Tip: The gallery is free and holds kids' attention better than most museums because of the animations and interactive bits. Pair it with a slow walk through the hotel art so children start noticing the pieces in the lobbies and corridors.

  • Shea at AI Wonderland in Macao

PLAY: AI Wonderland, Sportopia and Martial Arts Arena

The resort keeps kids busy without leaving the property. On Level 2, Team Little Steps found three play zones that suit different ages and energy levels: one focused on AI and learning, one on sports and racing, and one on martial arts through VR. All three are easy to reach from the hotels and the mall, so they fit naturally into a day between meals and the garden.

AI Wonderland (Level 2): Hands-on AI stations including chess robots, music and art creation, VR games, robot chat and programming, drone flying and group dance performances (MOP100 for 60 minutes; one adult plus a child aged 5 to 7).

Little Shea Insider Tip: Start with the robot dance and AI Art stations. Those two are the biggest hits. One ticket covers an adult and a young child (5 to 7), so plan around that age group for the best value.

Sportopia (Shopping Mall, Level 2): Virtual tennis against AI, VR racing with motion seats, mini racing and basketball shooting. Free plays are available with a room key, same-day receipt or social media post.

Little Shea Insider Tip: Use the room key for free games. It is the easiest option. The VR racing and mini racing are good for burning energy; go mid-afternoon when the mall is quieter.

Martial Arts Arena (Level 2): VR Wushu experiences across seven stations, from basic skills and wooden dummy practice to weapons training and boxing (MOP100 for 60 minutes).

Little Shea Insider Tip: Kids like the wooden dummy and weapons stations. It is active but contained, so it works well as a controlled energy outlet before dinner.

Additional Info:

THE GARDEN: Jardim Secreto, the Resort's Secret Garden

Do not miss the resort's secret garden, tucked between the hotel towers.

Jardim Secreto (Level 3): More than 1,000 square meters of manicured lawns, landscaped patios, romantic gazebos and baroque-style grass mazes, centered on an ornate dome that glows after sunset. It is reserved for resort guests and, according to the resort website, open from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Hours can change, so check before you go.

Little Shea Insider Tip: Visit at dusk, when the dome lights up, and let little ones burn off energy in the grass mazes before bedtime. It is also a calm reset between the play zones and dinner.
