WHAT IS THE IB CURRICULUM?

The IB continuum caters to students aged 3 to 19 and consists of the following programs:

Primary Years Programme marks the start of a lifelong journey and develops caring and culturally aware children aged 3 – 12 to become active participants in their own learning.

Middle Years Programme builds a solid academic foundation for students aged 11 – 16, develops their confidence in managing their own learning and connecting classroom and real world experiences.

Diploma Programme is a future-ready program for students aged 16– 19 that builds an inquiring mindset, fosters a desire to learn and prepares students to excel at their careers and lead a meaningful life.

Career-related Programme is a unique program for students aged 16– 19 that prepares them to follow their career pathways by combining academic subjects with their own professional interests.

Let's get scientific for a bit. When compared using the results of the International Schools’ Assessment (ISA), IB students outperformed non-IB students. In all five assessment areas – mathematical literacy, reading, narrative writing, expository writing, and scientific literacy – there was no instance that non-IB students did better than IB. The majority of the schools that participated in this study(2017 – 2019) were from the Asia Pacific region (43%), in the PYP and MYP levels.

What are the Things to Consider When Choosing an IB School in Kuala Lumpur?
