Annual Lantern Parade

The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming up soon and we can’t wait to celebrate by eating all of the yummy mooncakes and playing with lanterns! Lanterns have been associated with the festival, possibly because of their traditional symbolization of fertility. All too appropriate for a harvest festival. The lanterns also serve a practical purpose of lighting the way as friends and family stay up to appreciate the full moon late into the night. In the past, paper lanterns were lit by candlelight. But given safety concerns, these days, you’re more likely to see plastic versions with battery-powered lights in an array of designs.

This year, Paradigm Mall returns to join in on the festivities with their fabulous Mid-Autumn activities. Besides decking out the whole mall in beautiful themed decorations, Paradigm Mall is hosting its Annual Lantern Parade on September 7, 2019 from 8pm to 9pm at Level G entrance (beside Starbucks). Get a lantern for your little ones by registering their spot as there will be 100 LED lanterns to be given away, or bring your own and join in for this special occasion. All this is leading up to an epic Lantern Parade that promises to be truly spectacular – lock down your calendars and don’t miss out!
