Did you ever pause to think what happens to police dogs or K-9s as they are called, when they’re too old to perform the active-duty of sniffing out the bad guys, detecting explosives and tracking down crime scenes?
Like police officers, police dogs retire too and want the same things for their senior years like us. Comfortable, stable homes, a loving family, outdoor adventures, some peace, and quiet. The Hong Kong Police Force has an incredible opportunity for all dog lovers to adopt these beauties in their retirement years.
The working years of these soldiers start right at birth, they are exposed to strenuous activities as pups and then placed in foster homes to get a hang around humans. Once their vaccinations are complete, these little guys are up for some serious training for active years in law enforcement. By the age of 7 or 8, when they’re just as adorable as puppies, they are ready to hang their K-9 badges and spend their twilight years chilling in a loving home. These canines are even more grateful for the love and cuddles from your family because they can sense the alternative.
Promotes the adopt, don’t shop mantra. These K-9s are retired heroes, they might have slowed down a bit with age, but the salt and pepper in their fur make them look so adorable and absolutely cuddly!
Anyone who is looking for a furry friend who is a little more on the chill side, the Force has the final say on who gets the opportunity to take home their canine comrades, but if you have enough experience of loving pets, send in your applications.
Keep in mind that most of these dogs are German Shepherds or Belgian Malinois, so ample space in your apartment for these beauties to run about it a must.
