From Indonesia’s culinary traditions incorporating local produce and cocktails inspired by native ingredients, to artisanal Indonesian textiles, linens, ceramics and clothing produced in support of local Indonesian crafts – all this and more will be found in the 8,000-square-foot multi-purpose space in Sai Ying Pun that is home to the new Potato Head Hong Kong.
Designed by award-winning Tokyo-based architect Sou Fujimoto, known for the 2013 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion as well as the acclaimed Forest of Light installation at Milan Design Week 2016, and featuring distinct Indonesian touches such as the hand-painted ceiling panels made by the Torajan people of South Sulawesi, the space is filled with retail and dining concepts that include restaurant Kaum, an all-day cafe and bar, a coffee shop and a retail space featuring artisanal items from Canaan, Katamama, Three Buns and Potato Head as well as a collection of magazines and records. In addition, visitors will enjoy The Music Room, a great space ideally suited for events that will also feature a line-up of disco nights, album listening parties, guest gigs and touring DJs.
From the people behind the hugely popular Potato Head Beach Club in Bali, and opened in partnership with Yenn Wong of JIA Group, this new concept from PTT Family offers retail, dining, coffee and events inspired and informed by Indonesia, all under one roof.
