Perfect Decadent Sweet Treats

Best-Donut-Shops-Hong-Kong

In search of some sweet sugar glazed fried dough? Unlike many other countries where a Doughnut Shop, like Krispy Creme, is on every corner, finding doughnuts in Hong Kong is a bit of a mission. Nonetheless, Little Steps mission was successful, and we found some finger licking good donuts. Here is our guide to the best doughnuts in Hong Kong (or donuts in Hong Kong for some!).

  • J.CO DONUTS & COFFEE

Based in Indonesia with a presence in Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore, J.CO Donuts & Coffee is Hong Kong’s biggest specialty donut shop. Their donuts are soft, fluffy, buttery and come in an impressive range of flavors: Oreo, Japanese matcha, white chocolate, coconut… you name it! Their quality brewed Italian coffee and donuts are a match made in heaven. They are expanding to Tseung Kwan O this summer with a new range of cronuts as well as an exclusive breakfast menu - yum!

  • BUTTERY FACTORY

Soft vanilla donuts with millennial strawberry pink glaze, adorable pink and white sprinkles and a Ferrero Rocheron top? We’re in! Buttery Factory is a small hole in the wall donut shop on the same floor as the bookstore Eslite in Causeway Bay, churning out hundreds of donuts from scratch daily. Their donuts are a delight both to the tastebuds and the eyes. Their menu has a balance of both traditional flavors as well as the more surprising and controversial yet delicious combination - think smoked bacon, a whole egg tart, and barbeque chips - because why not?

Looking to up your protein intake? Try out the protein-loaded variety that swaps out flour and sugar for Vega Performance Protein and fiber-filled oats, which can be made with or without dark chocolate chips.

  • QUEEN SOPHIE

One of the latest bakeries in Sheung Wan and serving fantastic donuts as well as other delicious pastry items, both European and Asian inspired. The donuts have a bit of far-east flavor to them, think red bean, matcha, and taro. They are also slightly denser and larger than your standard donut. A delicious mouthful.
