ArtScience Museum’s iconic Future World: Where Art Meets Science exhibition is back with a bang from 31 May, unveiling a spectacular lineup of new and upgraded installations by the international art collective, teamLab. Following an extensive revamp, visitors can immerse themselves in mesmerizing interactive artworks that blend art, science, and nature seamlessly. Here’s what to expect:
Step into the City in Nature zone and experience the captivating Southeast Asian premiere of ‘Continuous Life and Death.’ This large-scale, immersive installation showcases the perpetual cycle of flowers blooming and withering in sync with the rising and setting sun. Visitors can interact with the flowers, causing them to fade away – a striking reminder of nature’s transient beauty.
This new addition replaces ‘Transcending Boundaries’ and ‘100 Years Sea [running time: 100 years],’ delving deeper into teamLab’s exploration of the connection between nature and humanity.
Future World’s crowd-pleaser ‘Sliding Through the Fruit Field’ has been enhanced with the dynamic ‘Waterfall Droplets, Flowing Down a Slope.’ This visually captivating installation creates a flowing cascade of water droplets that bounce and disperse as visitors make their way up the steps. It’s a fun, interactive way to experience the fluid nature of water as droplets move and collide in a playful dance.
In the Exploring New Frontiers zone, ‘Sketch Flight’ has evolved into ‘Sketch Umwelt World.’ Here, visitors can draw and color butterflies, hawks, and dolphins, then watch as their creations come to life in a digital world projected on a giant screen. Visitors can also use a digital device to experience the world through the eyes of these creatures, gaining insight into how different animals perceive their surroundings.
The exhibition revamp is just the beginning. Over the next few months, Future World will unveil even more installations, including a reimagined version of the mesmerizing ‘Crystal Universe.’ Stay tuned for more thrilling updates that continue to blur the lines between art, science, and nature.
From splashy slides to magical digital worlds, Future World ticks all the boxes for an epic family day out!
